Job Description

Wanted:An experiencedSQL DBAwith demonstratedexperience in administering, testing, and implementingcomputer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Coordinate changes to computer databases.Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.Preferred qualifications includeOracle database administration expertise working with DevSecOps teams to conduct software and database CI/CDand toensurecritical mission success.

A week in the life of aSQL DBA:

  • Administer production databases in a 24/7 service environment including Oracle RAC, Informix, MySQL, and SQL Server.
  • Perform database migration that include moving standalone Oracle 11g database to Oracle RAC 18c multi-tenant environment.
  • Evaluate and establish database management systems, standards, guidelines, and quality assurance deliverables in Oracle 10g Linux environments.
  • Coordinate and perform the loading of Oracle database patches and database upgrades in an Oracle 10g RAC environment.
  • Work with DevOps teams to conduct software and database deployments across Cigna's tests and production environments using CI/CD products: Jenkins,uDeploy, GIT, and Subversion.
  • Troubleshoot web application deployment issues and Oracle database data loading issues during code deployments.
  • Proactively monitor database performance using database tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), TOAD, and SQL Developer.

If this position is performed from Colorado, pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is$106,000-$177,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Pursuant to Colorado law, the actual compensation paid for this position may be outside of this range. Job Requirements
  • Required: a minimum of 12 years of recent and relevant experience
  • Required certification: Oracle 10g Certified Professional (OCP) (equivalent to Microsoft MCSE)
  • Preferred education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology management or a related field
  • Domain expertise: Database Performance Engineering, Software Development, DevSecOps
  • Technical skills: Hardware: HP-UX Version: 10.2, 11.0, 11.11; IBM Version: 4.3, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3; Solaris Version: 8, 10; Linux: Red Hat: RHEL 4, 5, 6, 7; Database: Oracle 7.3.4, 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g, 12cR1 & 12cR2, 18c; ASM, RAC, Multi-tenant, SharePlex; Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 13c; SQL Developer, TOAD, SQL Optimizer; T-SQL, SQL Server Management Studio; Applications: Epic (Bridges); InterSystems HealthShare Ensemble; Subversion; GIT; Jenkins; Jira; CA Workload Automation; IBM UrbanCode Deploy (uDeploy); HP Service Manager
  • Previous Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel clearance preferred but not required
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of TSA's mission priorities, systems, and applications preferred but not required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to coordinate across large groups of people at multiple levels
