Job Description

Wanted:An experiencedVMwareEngineerwith demonstratedexperience in designingand developingsolutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions.Preference given to candidates withexpertise in delivering virtualized solutions with a track record leading several successful technical implementations, upgrades and migrations of VMware.

A week in the life of aVMwareEngineer:

  • Serve as alead Architect designingthebuild and implementation of server upgrade to an EMC VMAXLUN VMware /virtual environment.
  • Administer hardening of the host,vCenterandVM templatesin compliance with the security guidelines put in place by IA.
  • Create,cloneanddeployVM templates using best practices.
  • Design and buildgeographically segregated DR sites forVMware allowing multi-site operation independence and DRcapabilities throughSite Reliability Manager.
  • Perform hands-on build of servers; consult on VMware virtual designand implementation of UAG.
  • Perform troubleshooting, navigating and gathering informationthrough theVMware Service Console.
  • Maintain a large VM View network supporting users working withintheVDIfor VMware and Citrix.
  • Perform continuous monitoring withVMware's OperationManagerconfigured for self-healing.
  • AdministerESXi, vCenter, VM templates, datastores, Update Manager,DvSwitch, SRM,OPS Manager, and VMware Cloud.
  • Design, document and implement a virtualized data center for 3 separate enclaves.

If this position is performed from Colorado, pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is$127,100--$212,300. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Pursuant to Colorado law, the actual compensation paid for this position may be outside of this range. Job Requirements
  • Required: a minimum of12 years ofrecent and relevantexperience.
  • Required certification:VCP
  • Preferred education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology management or a related field.
  • Domain expertise:Network Systems/ Technologies,Commercial SW,Operating Systems,Hardware,Dev Tools.
  • Technical skills:TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, Routing and Switching, Nexus 1000V virtual switches, VMware virtual networking,MS Exchange 5.5,2000,2003,2007,2010,2013,2016; Lotus Notes R4-R9; MS Office, VMware vSphere 4.x, 5.x, MS SQL Server 2012,MS Windows2000,2003,2008,Server 2012, 9x,XP,7,Intel-based PCs, Dell and HP Enterprise servers, NetApp SAN/NAS storage, Cisco IronPort Email Security Appliances,PowerShell, VBScript.
  • Other preferred certifications:VCP4, VCP5,VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Datacenter Design (VCAP-DCD),MCSE,MCITP,NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer(NCIE-SAN).
  • Previous Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel clearance preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of TSA's mission priorities, systems, and applications preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to coordinate across large groups of people at multiple levels.
