Farnsworth Group is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Engineer with proximity to our Denver or Colorado Springs, CO offices. In this role, you will assume multi-project responsibilities for full mechanical design including HVAC/Exhaust, cleanroom design, plumbing, and process utility systems. Projects will be in advanced manufacturing and technology markets. This role reports to an Engineering Manager who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities.
Job Activities:
  • Prepare accurate Mechanical HVAC system construction documents, drawings and specifications for bidding and submittal review.
  • Perform construction administration services
  • Prepare preliminary schematics and final designs, calculations, equipment selection and layout
  • Maintain project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality
  • Actively engage in and assume responsibility for code research and application
  • Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors
  • Coordinate with other production staff
Specific Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • 5-15 years of experience in technically complex system design
  • PE license, preferred, but not required
  • Strong working knowledge of ICC model codes (Fire, Building, Mechanical, Plumbing)
  • Experience with creating and interpreting P&IDs
  • Design experience relative to medium/large commercial and industrial facilities
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel occasionally to client sites in support of projects
  • Experience with high pressure steam and condensate systems preferred
  • Experience with abatement exhaust systems preferred
  • Experience with large hydronic systems preferred
