Responsibilities

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Mission Deployment and Sustainment MD&S Lead to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
  • Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently
  • Oversee efforts of less senior staff and responsible for efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
  • Ensure consistent submission of high-quality products to the Government
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy-oral and written


Qualifications

Required skills:

  • Relevant experience performing engineering activities in the Government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit or non-profit Government support, or development contractor arena
  • A minimum of ten years of experience managing IT projects with similar scope and complexity
  • A minimum of five years of experience leading development teams using agile or similar methodologies.

Desired skills/experience:

  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
  • Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in any of the following: Palo Alto configuration experience, Cisco advance training and certification, or Gigamon specific training and experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Security+, Cisco CyberOps Professional or Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE), or Palo Alto Network Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).

Education/Certification

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and 8 years' experience in software development; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and 10 years' experience in software development

Clearance:

  • Requires an Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses

Location/Travel Requirements:

  • Place of work is Colorado Springs, remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $185,000/year to $230,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
