Responsibilities

PeopleTec is looking for an experienced Cyber Defense Operations (CDO) Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee and work closely with the system owner to identify and document existing architecture as well as work in a developmental capability to build and maintain a complex Army system. The ability to receive and translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes the candidate an integral part of delivering customer focused engineering solutions. As the CDO Lead on our team, the candidate will be part of a team driving security improvement through assessments of Department of Defense systems and will perform multiple cyber vulnerability assessment functions including penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, security controls validation, and will support detecting, identifying, and mitigating organizational cyber threats. This position requires direct customer interaction and expertise in red teaming and/or penetration testing, and in developing defensive architectures and deployment of numerous cybersecurity technologies that aid in cyber threat risk reduction. The candidate will be responsible for aligning contract deliverables to assigned teammate tasks.

The candidate will work on Army projects in support of the Operations (G3) and attached to the G33 Cyber Mission Systems function to improve mission support, apply technology insertion and modernization efforts.

CDO Lead Responsibilities

    Create and maintain system and network diagrams as well as process documentation
  • Create, or modify control systems configurations and operator interface parameters
  • Perform system preventative maintenance, trouble shooting & engineering services, as required
  • Conduct technical analysis of complex infrastructure and integration challenges to include assessment of requirements, SW installations, SW infrastructure changes, integration and troubleshooting of application software, full system testing, information assurance scans, adherence to System Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG), and control implementation in accordance with RMF processes and security posture
  • Opportunity to solve complex installation and integration challenges while documenting both solutions, analysis, and alternatives
  • Provide support to ensure planning and deployment is accomplished in coordination with system owners, engineers and stakeholders and are consistent with appropriate infrastructure and security engineering requirements
  • Support continuous integration and delivery efforts between each respective mission area and the appropriate cyber missions system support cell with each delivery effort
  • Responsible for system design, development, architecture, and integration of COTS, GOTS, in-house and third-party developed software packages into the baseline
  • Familiarity with networking applications, Ethernet, TCP-IP, IP Networks, and infrastructure
  • Excellent skills with systems integration in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Work quality; history of producing high quality work and a proven ability to establish and monitor quality measures

Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship
  • TS/SCI Eligible
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related fields
  • Must have or be able to get a DoD 8570.O1M IAT Level III certification and a CCSP Incident Responder certification withing 6 months.
  • 6+ yrs. of related experience in:
    • Software integration, troubleshooting, and application administration of complex computer systems including 3rd party software integration
    • Red Hat (or other) Linux & Windows administration
    • Virtualization technologies (VMware, VirtualBox)
    • Scripting languages (BASH, Perl, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc)
    • Networking (IPv4, IPv6, TCP/UDP, IGMP/PIM, IPSEC, LACP, VLAN, Cisco iOS, etc)
    • Software encryption (SSL/PKI) methodology
    • Enterprise hardware (switches, RAID configurations, SAN/DAS/NAS, Fiber/NFS/iSCSI, blade/rack-mount servers)
    • Experience with build and packaging tools (Apache ANT, Jenkins, Maven, RPM, Wix/MSI) a plus
