PURPOSE

Under direct supervision the Window Service Technician I is an entry level position and is responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and inventory maintenance for window services with basic efficiency. Performs duties under the direction of the Service and Install Manager and Leads.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges specific to various window manufacturers and exterior swing doors.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. (Builds Screens)
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains compliancy with all OSHA regulations and utilizes proper safety protocol on jobsites as well as always wearing proper Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • 1 - 2 years of related experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company's active bonus policy for the respective year.
