Responsibilities

The AI Infrastructure Solution Team is in search of a dynamic and strategic Solution Planner to lead the planning and guide the development of optical interconnect testing solutions.

With the exploding growth of optical data transmission that is driven by high data demand applications like AI Workload in the datacenter, the interoperability and integrity of optical data transmission is presenting technically challenging and rapidly evolving measurement needs.

This is a great opportunity for an individual that wants to work with a highly motivated, highly skilled and very innovative team to help define, and develop the next generation of measurements in our oscilloscopes, BERTs and optical test equipment.

Market Insight and Solution Planning:

  • Analyze upcoming market trends driven by AI Workloads Requirements and articulate the impact to Keysight optical interconnect test portfolio and strategy
  • Identify emerging opportunities for innovation and strategic investment based on these market insights.
  • Engage leading customers and lead efforts in requirements gathering, experimentation, product management, and the solution development processes.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams and utilize understanding of measurement science techniques to influence the R&D roadmap and shape the development of effective testing solutions.

Standards Influence and Compliance:

  • Become a respected contributing member of key industry standards development committees, working with individuals across the industry
  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of the relevant standards ( IEEE, ITU, OIF-CEI) and work to enable progress to gain consensus agreement on measurement techniques in the optical transmission industry.
  • Attendance at all key standards meetings that are scheduled in either in-person and virtual formats will be required throughout the year
  • Develop and deliver documents that articulate Keysight's contributions to industry standards and communicate new measurement science to customers. This includes application notes, technical white papers, formal input submissions to industry standards committees, technical conference presentations, and customer education.


Business Growth Strategy:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the business growth strategy for optical interconnect segment
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Sales teams to ensure effective execution of the growth strategy.
  • Embrace a customer-first and result-oriented mindset, bringing a positive growth mindset attitude to the team.
  • Enable and be the go-to-expert for solution engineers and customers for solutions
  • Familiarity with the technology lifecycle and the ability to recognize adjacent market opportunities

Technical Expertise:

Knowledge of the following emerging technology :

  1. IM Direct Detect and Coherent optical technology
  2. Linear Drive Optics
  3. Co-packaged Optics
  4. Optical Interconnect fabric
  5. TDEQ/EECQ/SNDR

Qualifications

Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent engineering major in optical systems & design with 10 years of experience
  • Demonstrated engineering skills in prior internships or jobs
  • The ability to work in fast-paced, multi-disciplined, cross-department environment
  • Demonstrated skill and sustained interest in two or more of the disciplines listed below.
  • Test and Measurement instrumentation usage (Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Bit-Error Rate Tester, Optical Test Equipment, etc.)
  • Optical data signal generation and receiver technology
  • Optical and/or electrical data transmission systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to work with a diverse global team from many cultures

Desired:

  • A Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent engineering major in optical systems & design with 10+ years of experience
  • Understanding of Test and Measurement equipment Theory of Operation, particularly oscilloscopes
  • Evidence of ability to use business acumen to balance tradeoffs in measurement science development risk, market need timeline, and creation of sustained differentiating value from unique measurement capabilities
  • Knowledge of digital modulation techniques, particularly NRZ, PAM and QAM on electrical and optical signals
  • Experience with whole product lifecycle (proof of concept, design, prototype, verification, qualification, release)
  • Proven success in integrating resources across multiple functions in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly competitive environment.

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

California pay range: MIN $122,240- MAX $243,00
